You've probably never heard of Anton Newcombe or his band The Brian Jonestown Massacre, but 'Dig!' is the story of his musical brilliance and self-destruction.

Director Ondi Timoner spent 7 years trailing The Brian Jonestown Massacre and another band, The Dandy Warhols. The groups were best friends, but while The Dandy Warhols signed onto a major music label and found commercial success, Anton Newcombe, the frontman of The Brian Jonestown Massacre, began using heroin and alienating his bandmates.
